ANArKH Café & Restaurant, situated in the Gosan district of Uijeongbu, South Korea, stands as a cultural hub where the realms of café culture, bakery delights, culinary experiences, and art converge. Nestled amidst sprawling residential complexes and embraced by the verdant expanse of the adjacent green belt zone, this establishment seamlessly integrates with its natural surroundings.
Architectural Design
Designed by Simplex Architecture, the building boasts a minimalist rectangular structure. The southern and eastern façades feature expansive glass panels, offering panoramic views of the surrounding forest, while the northern and western sides are clad in solid walls to provide privacy and tranquility, shielding visitors from the adjacent apartment complex.
Entrance Experience
Approaching the café, visitors are greeted by the northwest façade adorned with yellow granite stone, evoking the appearance of a monumental natural stone block. Ascending the stairs towards the entrance, the building gradually unfolds, revealing its architectural grandeur. Upon reaching the top, guests are welcomed by an inviting interior space, seamlessly connecting with the lush greenery outside.
Interior Concept
Spanning across multiple floors, the café offers diverse interior concepts on each level, ensuring a unique experience with every visit. The 1st floor features a tranquil reflecting pool and signature tree, inviting patrons to immerse themselves in the serenity of nature. The 2nd floor embraces the concept of “planterior,” fostering a harmonious relationship between indoor planting and the outdoor landscape. Meanwhile, the duplex café theater on the 2nd and 3rd floors serves as the cultural heart of the establishment, hosting various artistic and musical events.

The 4th and 5th floors house the restaurant, with the latter boasting an outdoor rooftop space for VIP guests to savor their meals amidst breathtaking views.
