Introduction

Located in Panchkula, India, the Bodega Restaurant, designed by Loop Design Studio, stands as a testament to the timeless allure of vernacular architecture fused with a bohemian aesthetic. Lead architects Nikhil Pratap Singh and Suvrita Bhardwaj have crafted a space that exudes warmth and charm, inviting patrons into a world of eclectic design and sensory delight.

Design Concept

Bodega embodies a sense of timelessness, drawing inspiration from the rich heritage of vernacular architecture. The design ethos emphasizes the use of natural materials such as stone, wood, bamboo, and brick, creating a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity. The interior decor reflects an eclectic and whimsical sensibility, featuring sculptural art, bespoke lighting fixtures, and unique furniture pieces.

Atrium Illumination

Upon entering Bodega, guests are greeted by a double-height atrium adorned with a striking bamboo lighting installation. This parametric fixture cascades from the ceiling, playing with scale and perception to transform the space into a captivating visual experience. The bamboo chandelier, reimagined as a lighting fixture, adds an element of rustic elegance to the ambiance.

Spatial Organization

The restaurant’s layout is divided into three distinct zones: the bar area, the central double-height floor, and the private dining section. Each zone is thoughtfully designed to evoke a different mood and atmosphere, from the unearthly ambiance of the bar to the cozy intimacy of the private dining space. Natural grey stone walls provide a textured backdrop for the layered installations, creating depth and visual interest.

Artistic Details

Throughout Bodega, artistic details abound, from the undulating twig ceiling in the bar area to the intricate brickwork in the central seating zone. Bohemian and tribal motifs adorn the walls, doors, and paneling, infusing the space with cultural richness and character. Abstract ceiling fixtures and wooden slats add to the eclectic charm, inviting guests to embark on a sensory journey of exploration.

Immersive Experience

Above all, Bodega aims to provide an immersive dining experience that engages all the senses and sparks curiosity. By seamlessly integrating art, architecture, and design, Loop Design Studio has created a space where patrons can indulge in culinary delights while being transported to a world of creativity and inspiration.
